Fayetteville, AR Newborn Session

First of all, I want to make it very clear that I will not use AI to write these posts. That is not my intention to give you unintentional, produced, in-genuine…ai slop. I really care about what I am putting out and what I convey to my clients and potential clients.

So, for my first post, I want to write about the Reinlein Family newborn session. This session was so smooth and I believe it was smooth because they listened to my advice on how to create the smoothest session. LOL. Which most people do follow my instructions, just so you are aware. But this session was SO SMOOTH it was honestly a little shocking.

What do I ask of my new moms to make these session go smoothly? This is the exact text that I sent out to my client - Maddie who welcomed me into their home for this session.

Hey Maddie! I am checking in with you for our session on Friday!

I will arrive close to 8:50/right at 9am.

Here are a few tips to make our session go smoothly!

Try to have baby fed and freshly changed by my arrival time. Keep your home a little warmer than usual so [baby] is warm between photos. I recommend having all outfits and swaddles ready! I usually start with the whole family either in the nursery, living room, or the master bedroom. Whichever has the best natural lighting. Would you mind letting me know where you would like to shoot so I can prepare? Then I will take photos of just mom with him, just dad with him, and sister with him as well as him by himself.

If you have any questions please let me know!! I look forward to shooting with you this week!

Let’s break this down:

I always ask that homes are a little warmer than usual so baby stays cozy during the session.
I always ask that all outfits and swaddles are ready so that we can do changes quickly.
I always ask that baby is fed prior to my arrival. Now, it is ok if baby needs to be fed again, I can take photos of them nursing, bottle feeding, or I can step out of the room if that is better for the mom.
I always ask for spaces we will be shooting to be cleaned up of any distractions, HOWEVER, I love the lifestyle type so if spaces are “lived in” or as I call it “well loved,” then I don’t mind getting photos of that as well. Our main goal is to remember your life as it is RIGHT NOW during this season. That does not mean perfectly cleaned homes. I have 4 kids…. I know LOL.
I always give a generalized list of photos that we will get during the session so mom/dad/siblings know what to expect.

I truly TRULY love my job and love doing this for my clients.
