FARMINGTON, AR PILATES BRANDING SESSION
ALIGN FITNESS STUDIOS - FARMINGTON, AR ← check out their website!
When Katie approached me for branding photos and website for her new pilates studio: Align Fitness Studios, I was EXTREMELY excited about it. I had never done pilates, though, so I had no idea what any of the terms meant or what the weight equipment was or the poses or anything. It was truly a starting from ground zero project for me. But, these projects are my favorite. I love taking something I know nothing about, hyper focusing on it, learning everything I can, and then creating beautiful imagery and photos that can be used in a variety of places.
I immediately went to the internet to find some inspiration and look into what photos are appropriate for a pilates studio. (Pinterest for the win.) For this session we chose to shoot at the Studio on White Street (shocker, I know - I love that place). This studio is just so insanely versatile it was perfect for what we wanted to accomplish.
We booked the studio for 2 hours and just rolled through all the pose ideas that Katie & I had come up with. She knew that she wanted some with a lot of negative space for some instagram posts and needed the space for text. She knew that she wanted some using the equipment and helped find models that we could use for the photos (herself included!). There was a moment when I looked over and the sun was coming in from the window on the left side of the room (I have no idea like east and west… so let’s just say the left side..) so we hurried and moved one of the rolling walls that Allison has in the studio (CLUTCH) over to where the light would hit the girls in a harsh way. Sometimes, things just work out beautifully. If you know me, you know I prefer natural light and playing with natural light over artificial light. I think both are great, but there is just something about KNOWING how to use natural light that I love so much. It is so unpredictable, but just really has a wow-factor when it works out like it did at this session. A session like this reminds me WHY I love my job so much. It is just SO much fun doing what I do.
I also designed and manage their website. This project was (and continues to be) one of my favorite of all time. We worked together to find a good app manager that would be seamless for people to create accounts, view and book classes, and manage their profile and membership. It was a true collaboration that worked so seamlessly for both of us.
I actually did end up switching from CrossFit (after 8 years) to pilates for the first time in January 2026 when she opened the studio. It was such a good switch for me and I have felt stronger and more confident since making the switch. She has created such an intentional space for her customers from the ground up. It is a truly special place. She has poured so much of herself into the studio and you can feel that from the second you step through the doors.
